Welcome to the Informational Website for
Michigan's Student Health Survey (SHS)

What is the SHS? The Student Health Survey (SHS) is an online survey designed for Michigan schools to determine the nutrition and physical activity knowledge, beliefs, and behaviors of their students.

Why participate in the SHS? The SHS was created to assist middle and high schools in creating a healthier school environment. It helps schools by providing key information so they can actively support healthy choices for students as part of a total learning environment.

What's involved? Schools register to participate - registration takes about 5 minutes. A staff member serves as the primary contact and coordinator for the school. Their role is to enroll classrooms and provide instructions and information to classroom teachers about survey access. Online tools are provided to make the process efficient and convenient.

The SHS will take students about 15 minutes to complete. The online survey was designed to be easy, user-friendly, and to protect the anonymity of student responses.
