SCHOOL LUNCH
SUCCESS STORY

The Coordinated Health Team at Reed City High School has revamped the school menu's to include HEALTHY choices. We took all items out of the program that were more than 30% of the recommended daily allowance of fat, this included ala carte choices, vending and all menus. We now offer only 100% juice, water and milk for the beverages. We also took all items that list sugar or corn syrup out of the food service program.

We are in the process of writing a grant that would allow us to receive two new salad bars for our high school. This will allow us to offer the students more fresh fruit and vegetables. We believe all of these factors will encourage our staff and students to eat healthier not only during school, but all the time.
