EDUCATION FOR STAFF, STUDENTS AND FAMILIES ABOUT ASTHMA SUCCESS STORY
The Adrian High School Student Wellness Team presented copies of Kim Gosselin's children's books-The ABC'S of Asthma, Zoo Allergy, and Taking Asthma to School to each elementary school library. The high school students went to the lower elementary classrooms to read the stories and to let the students know the books were now in their library.
In addition, each elementary school now has copies of the official asthma form for parent/guardians and their physician to complete. Once the form is completed and returned, the school staff will know the appropriate steps to take with the children in their buildings who are asthmatic.
These opportunities were made possible by an Asthma and Tobacco grant from the Michigan Public Health Institute.
