SCHOOL LUNCH
SUCCESS STORY

Before we implemented our district's wellness policy, the food service department would include french fries with every reimbursable meal. Now, french fries are only included with any entree on a bun. They are not included with our pizza meals, nacho meal or specialty meals. Students must pay ala carte prices for french fries for those meals. Our french fry consumption has been reduced since we made this change. We also removed pop from our serving lines and replaced it with teas, light lemonades, and 10% juices. Most students didn't complain about the changes we made this year. This was a major success for our district.
