SCHOOL BREAKFAST
SUCCESS STORY

During the 2006-2007 school years, Scottville Elementary School has made several positive changes regarding the health of our students. Two successes that stand out are changing our daily menu, and where the students eat breakfast.

At the beginning of the school year, we opened up the cafeteria to serve our 100+ breakfast participants. Prior to that time, children ate breakfast at their desks in classrooms and were rushed to finish so that teachers could begin class. The menu was changed to offer healthier choices. We have also moved away from bag breakfasts and now serve hot breakfast two times per week. The students now have more time to eat.

Other Relevant School Information

Our Team/Committee met 4 or more times during the past 12 months.
