Welcome to the Online Home of the
Community Coalition Assessment Tool (CCAT)
Coalition strength and function is essential to successful and sustainable
policy, environment and systems change initiatives.
- What is the Community Coalition Assessment Tool (CCAT)? The Community Coalition Assessment is a brief online survey completed by your coalition members. The aggregated results will help your coalition determine internal, relational and organizational strengths and areas for growth.
- Who should complete the CCAT? This process asks all participating coalition members to complete a periodic assessment to give their opinions on membership, performance, leadership, synergy, coordination, capacity and decision-making. Each coalition members’ responses will remain anonymous since all answers are aggregated into final scores for assessment topic area. These scores will be provided to the registered coalition administrator for further review by the coalition.
- Why complete the CCAT? Coalitions are unique and highly dynamic organizations. It does not matter what strategies or focus areas a coalition concentrates on. There are still common and core areas of functioning that determine a group’s capacity to cooperate and collaborate with changing internal and external circumstances. This tool is intended to inform ongoing coalition improvement, membership recruitment and leadership development.
- Where is CCAT located? Right here on this website. Register to begin completing CCAT for your worksite. You can also review a print copy of CCAT for manual responses by visiting the Preview CCAT page.
- How do I register and complete the CCAT? Each distinct coalition should designate one administrator for the CCAT. The administrator should register on behalf of the coalition. After registering, the administrator will be routed to an instructions page which will tell him/her all they need to know about launching (and closing) an assessment cycle, inviting coalitions members to complete a survey, and accessing the aggregated reports. The instructions are available for reference any time the administrator logs in at this website. Individual coalition members who are contributing by completing the assessment survey will receive an email invitation to participate with a link to the survey.
